A GoGroup is a small group of people doing life together while working to make a difference for Christ in our community (locally or globally). Groups typically meet in homes sometime during the weekend. They go beyond just "meet and eat." Think of it as a diet of great friendships and God's Word - plus exercise!
Your group will support each other in life's ups and downs, study and grow together, but we can't stop there. If you are interested in experiencing God at a deeper level, you have to reach out and serve those who are not like you. Our small groups pray and seek God's guidance on where they can apply their gifts and resources to show compassion. We believe God will use us, as we are willing, to powerfully impact the world. Through giving of ourselves, we are transformed more and more into Christ's likeness. Being focused on others is a lifestyle, not just another activity on our calendar.
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Phil 2:3-4
GoGroups will come in many flavors:
• Some are formed around a shared passion, and spend a majority of their time together serving in that area. Examples: local homelessness, Casa Hogar Elim Orphanage, Frisco Family Services, Lwala Kenya, Victoria Gardens Nursing Home, and Justice issues.
"The primary reason Jesus calls us to servanthood is not just because other people need our service. It is because of what happens to us when we serve." – John Ortberg
How much "GOing" does a GoGroup group do? Groups will fall somewhere between "Meet and Eat" and "All Go, All The Time" - but not stuck in either of those modes. Each group will have a unique mix of fellowship, growth, and service. For example:
• A few times a year you help with a church-wide compassion project like Clothe-a-Child, or volunteer in PT Kids. The rest of the time is spent studying and doing life together.
• You use some of your time together periodically to write letters to nursing home residents, police officers, prisoners, orphans…
• You meet twice a month: one meeting is for study/social, and the other is for serving.
• Your regularly scheduled meetings are focused on your service activity, and you may have occasional parties/social times.

"Have you seen the sea? The sea is not one expanse of water. It's actually drops of water that have come together. We are not expecting you to feed everybody, but you can feed one person, you can feed two people. Each one of us has a role. Do your little bit where you can, because it is those little bits that make the difference." – Desmond Tutu
