Jim Johnson - Senior Pastor
jim johnson

After pastoring in Atlanta, Georgia for ten years, Jim and his wife Robin, along with good friends Paul and Denise Basden, moved back to their home state of Texas in 2002 to start a church for people who have given up on church but not on God.

In a previous millennium Jim received a BA and PhD from Baylor University.  He and Robin have three grown sons and one beautiful daughter-in-law.  While Preston Trail is Jim’s passion, he is addicted to 24, dabbles in real estate, and is an aspiring tennis player.

God is currently increasing both Jim’s and Robin’s patience with the help of a “chiweiner” mutt named Spaulding.

Paul Basden - Senior Pastor
paul basdenPaul is a native Dallasite who moved around to Virginia and Alabama before coming back home to the Lone Star State. He is a graduate of Baylor University and received his PhD from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Paul and his wife Denise have two daughters: Kari, a singer, is part of the Texas folk duo Mosey with husband Jared Dobbs, and Kristen, an ESPN junkie, is attending school to become a medical assistant. Paul enjoys watching sports on TV with anyone, watching classic rock concert DVDs with fellow head-bangers, watching movies at home with his family, working crossword puzzles with Denise, eating food (especially chocolate), working out (so he can eat more chocolate), laughing, playing guitar, giving gifts to his family and friends, and watching with joy as Preston Trail is becoming the church he's always dreamed of and hoped for. His work at PTCC includes teaching at the weekend services and heading up Men’s Ministry and Compassion Ministries.
