HELP NEEDED AT BUILDING
We’re counting down the weeks before we’re in our new building. Every volunteer will make a difference in not only our timeline but in the lives of people we hope to reach! Volunteers are needed this week on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights from 6:00 – 9:00 PM, and Saturday from 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Work projects include, but are not limited to, cleaning, painting, sanding the floor, and a variety of installations. We’d be grateful for any help you can give!

GIFT CARDS FOR THANKSGIVING -
PTCC is participating in Frisco Family Service’s Thanksgiving Meal Program in which boxes are filled with food and distributed to area families in need. Our approach is to donate gift cards from Target and Tom Thumb for the perishable items (milk, butter, eggs, and turkey). For more information, please visit the table in the information table on Nov. 5, 12, and 19.

MINISTRY FAIR: THIS SUNDAY!
As we go through our series Living Beyond Myself, many of you are starting to realize
where you can plug in. You can signup for your team and find out more details at our upcoming Ministry Fair on Sunday, November 5th. After our services, we will feature all the serving teams in the AMC lobby. Stop by, signup and learn more about how your gifts will be put into use.

WOMEN’S CHRISTMAS BRUNCH & MARKET
Does all the busyness of the upcoming holiday season leave you somewhat frazzled and frustrated at times? Do you miss out on the true meaning of Christmas? Well, this year’s theme, How Our Culture Stole Christmas, will help bring back your focus! In addition to a motivating talk, our brunch will feature Christmas music, a warm breakfast (including green eggs and ham), a special drama, door prizes and shopping immediately following. What a great way to spend the weekend before Christmas - sharing times with friends and getting back into the spirit! Tickets will be $15.00 each and will go on sale in November before and after our Sunday services. This year’s market will also feature 25 vendors. If you have a business you would like to market, consider being a market vendor and pick up a form after service today!

What’s a Cup of Coffee Worth?

At first glance, not much.  A handful of ground java beans, a packet of sweetener, and a shot of creamer can’t cost more than a few cents.  But what if?  What if a seeker found his way to Preston Trail and the warm smile of a Host Team volunteer assured him he had come to the right place?  What if he was drawn to the refreshment table and a Hospitality Team member poured him a cup of Joe?  What if holding that warm cup in his hand made him a little more comfortable in a crowd and he lingered in the lobby just a little longer before heading into the Theatre to find a seat?  What if one of our folks noticed this new face in the crowd and came over and struck up a conversation?  What if they had a few things in common and decided to continue getting to know each other as they walked into the Theatre?

What if the music and message that day resonated with his spirit and he determined he would come back again?  What if a friendship burgeoned between these two individuals?  What if, after a season of attending and listening, with the help of this new friend, this seeker made a decision to trust and follow Christ?  Let me ask you again.  What’s a cup of coffee worth?  In this case, it’s priceless.

When a member of the Hospitality Team hooked up the coffee maker early that morning, she probably wasn’t thinking that she would be playing a brief, but significant, role in the divine story of this guest.  But she did!

That’s why at Preston Trail no one is “just” a volunteer.  Whether serving in the parking lot or in Curbside, on Set Up or on the Worship Team, volunteers make indispensable contributions to God’s work through Preston Trail.  Our volunteers get the chance to alter the trajectory of another person’s spiritual destination every time they serve.  How do you place a value on that?

This is why we are so excited about our Ministry Fair which will be held immediately after our Worship Service this Sunday.  We will have booths and tables set up which will help you discover where your place of service can be.  As we move into our new building, it is going to be imperative that everyone who calls Preston Trail their spiritual home finds their place to plug in.  When everyone does, our ability to love and serve people will skyrocket off the charts.  God will use our spiritual gifts and energy to multiply the size of heaven many times over.

I invite you to come with an open and expectant heart this Sunday.  Paul continues our series, Living Beyond Myself, with the challenge to Just Jump In!  Our great prayer is that when the day is over you will have signed up for the most significant role you will fulfill in a long time, and our church will be one giant step closer to launching out into the most incredible adventure in our history!

Brewing!

Jim

street smarts
All of us could say we want our lives “to count.” All too often, though, we feel like we don’t count for much. Why is that? Here’s the simple answer. Most of us are living for ourselves and the world doesn’t take much notice of a turned-inward person. On the other hand, living beyond ourselves sets us up to make a huge difference in the world.

Join Jim and Paul for the next four Sundays as they present a dynamic series entitled Living
Beyond Myself.
