HELP NEEDED AT BUILDING
We’re counting down the weeks before we’re in our new building. Every volunteer will make a difference in not only our timeline but in the lives of people we hope to reach! Volunteers are needed this week on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights from 6:00 – 9:00 PM, and Saturday from 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Work projects include, but are not limited to, cleaning, painting, sanding the floor, and a variety of installations. We’d be grateful for any help you can give!

GIFT CARDS FOR THANKSGIVING -
PTCC is participating in Frisco Family Service’s Thanksgiving Meal Program in which boxes are filled with food and distributed to area families in need. Our approach is to donate gift cards from Target and Tom Thumb for the perishable items (milk, butter, eggs, and turkey). For more information, please visit the table in the information table on Nov. 5, 12, and 19.

WOMEN’S CHRISTMAS BRUNCH & MARKET
Does all the busyness of the upcoming holiday season leave you somewhat frazzled and frustrated at times? Do you miss out on the true meaning of Christmas? Well, this year’s theme, How Our Culture Stole Christmas, will help bring back your focus! In addition to a motivating talk, our brunch will feature Christmas music, a warm breakfast (including green eggs and ham), a special drama, door prizes and shopping immediately following. What a great way to spend the weekend before Christmas - sharing times with friends and getting back into the spirit! Tickets will be $15.00 each and will go on sale in November before and after our Sunday services. This year’s market will also feature 25 vendors. If you have a business you would like to market, consider being a market vendor and pick up a form after service today!

Connecting with Christ

Years ago Jesus said, “I am the vine, you are the branches. Apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5) What he was getting at was this – if you want to live your life as a Christian, you must be connected to Christ. Not just occasionally, but constantly. Not just in one or two ways, but in every way possible.

As your spiritual guides at PTCC, we want to help you connect with Christ as often as you can, in as many ways as you can. Here are several opportunities designed to get you in touch with Jesus and show you how you can follow him.

  • JESUS SERVED. We are hosting a Serving Team training conference this Saturday November 11 from 9:00 to noon at the new building. It’s for all who have signed up for any of our serving teams. If you have not registered yet, you may do so by emailing JD Tomlin at info@prestontrail.org.
  • JESUS HEALED. This Wednesday night November 15 we are going to have a service of Prayers for Healing. While neither Jim nor I have the gift of healing, we do believe that all Christ-followers are called to pray for God’s healing hand to touch those who are sick in any way – physically, mentally, or emotionally. If you have struggled with an illness or weakness that makes you suffer, let us pray for you. We can’t guarantee healing, but we will assure you of God’s grace and love. Join us at 7 PM in AMC Theatre 5 for this service. Childcare will be provided.
  • JESUS CELEBRATED COMMUNION. On his final night before crucifixion, Jesus ate a meal with his disciples. During the meal he told them that the bread was his body and the cup was his blood. Ever since that first Lord’s Supper, Christ-followers have been celebrating Communion. We will do the same on Sunday morning November 19 at our 10 AM service. With Thanksgiving being four days later, what better way is there to be reminded of the greatest gift ever given.
  • JESUS PRAYED. During the upcoming holiday season, we are going to participate in “30 Days of Prayer.” It will be a concentrated time of spiritual preparation to get our hearts ready before we enter the new building. Each day for 30 days you will receive a brief email that will challenge you to ask God for something specific that day. Just imagine the power of several hundred people praying the same prayers every day for a month – wow! Be watching for more info later.

Following and obeying Jesus is what keeps your faith vital and real. May God use these experiences to help you connect with Christ in a transformational way.

Seeking to stay connected,

Paul Basden, senior pastor

street smarts
All of us could say we want our lives “to count.” All too often, though, we feel like we don’t count for much. Why is that? Here’s the simple answer. Most of us are living for ourselves and the world doesn’t take much notice of a turned-inward person. On the other hand, living beyond ourselves sets us up to make a huge difference in the world.

Join Jim and Paul as they present a dynamic series entitled Living Beyond Myself.
