MOVE-IN PARTY #3
Join us Saturday, January 20 beginning at 9:00 AM for a giant Move-In Party #3 at the new building (10501 F.M. 3537 – Main Street)! We need your help in assembling all the remaining furnishings and fixtures, decorating the rooms, and getting the last minute touches done before Sunday’s Grand Opening service. In order for this to happen, we need you to give us some time that day, even if it’s for 30 minutes. Bring the small household tools. Let’s make the move into Preston Trail’s first building a family affair!

This kickoff will include a homemade chili dinner, a hilarious improv troop, a vision for men’s ministry, and our Sunday morning worship band playing some great music. We invite ALL men to come to this event ... and to bring a friend with you!

Grand Opening Is Finally Here!

After waiting for twelve months to get into our new building and invite the community to join us, we’re now ready! Grand Opening is finally here! This Sunday January 21 will be the first time many people in Frisco and the surrounding area will know there’s a church meeting at 10501 FM 3537. Thanks to an invitation we sent out to 20,000 homes this week, we hope to have many first-time guests who will be curious about what kind of church we are.  I’m excited that we get to show them we are a church where there are “No Perfect People Allowed.” That’s the message we want to communicate to everyone who enters the building on Sunday.

Here are some things to pray about for Grand Opening Sunday:

  • Decent weather – Our parking team (the REAL men) have become Eskimos. Pray for a break from precipitation this Sunday, not just for their sake, but for the sake of guests who may stay away if the weather is less than perfect.

  • Lots of teenagers – Ryan Hairston has a goal of 120 middle school and high school students attending the youth service during the 11:00 hour. Pray for lots of teenagers to show up Sunday and experience God’s love. A great youth ministry is a sign of a great church.

  • Preschool volunteers – Last Sunday our chief architect told Jim that he thought our preschool rooms were as attractive and sharp as any he has ever seen, including those in much larger churches. When parents see that, they will have no problem leaving their kids there during worship. Which is wonderful … except it requires more volunteers than we currently have. Would you ask God to call out more people to care for preschoolers? And would you consider serving in preschool for one hour, then attending worship the other hour? If so, contact Allison Harrell at teamharrell@sbcglobal.net.

  • Jim’s message – This week we begin a new series of messages called “Man Laws.” It will explore some of the human laws we live by, and compare them to God’s laws of life. Pray for Jim as he tackles the first Man Law, “Whoever dies with the most toys wins.” Ask God to use Jim to challenge people to hear and understand the real truth about “things” and “stuff.”

One last thing – we are having Move-In Day #3 this Saturday at 9 AM. You have been so generous with your time the last two Saturdays. Thank you! We’re on the home stretch! A little more equipment has arrived this week, and it needs to be unpacked and assembled. Plus the concrete floors are being polished this week (weather permitting), and everything that was on cement is now on carpet … and will need to be put back on the concrete on Saturday. If you can help, we can use your time and expertise!

God is at work in our midst, building a church that will increase his reputation in the community and world. I’m so glad we’re a part of it all!

Paul Basden, senior pastor

man laws

The current “Man Law” commercials are a humorous spoof of the unwritten rules that guide male behavior.  There are, however, other unwritten principles that serve as guides for everyone.  The question is, “Do they serve us well?”  That’s the question we will be asking as we tackle these Man Laws:

January 21:
“Whoever Dies with the Most Toys Wins”
January 28:
“If It Feels Good, Do It”"
February 4:
“The Grass Is Always Greener”
February 11:
“All Good People Go to Heaven”
