HELP NEEDED AT BUILDING
We’re counting down the weeks before we’re in our new building. Every volunteer makes a difference in not only our timeline but in the lives of people we hope to reach!

During the week of November 27 we will be installing acoustic panels, sanding floors, and waxing the floors in the sanctuary to prepare for a/v equipment. If you have any questions or would like to join us, feel free to just show up at the building during printed times or call John Taylor at 214- 542-3767 or JD Tomlin at 817-913-4129 and let them know you’re coming.
Thanks for serving!

WOMEN’S CHRISTMAS BRUNCH & MARKET
Does all the busyness of the upcoming holiday season leave you somewhat frazzled and frustrated at times? Do you miss out on the true meaning of Christmas? Well, this year’s theme, How Our Culture Stole Christmas, will help bring back your focus! In addition to a motivating talk, our brunch will feature Christmas music, a warm breakfast (including green eggs and ham), a special drama, door prizes and shopping immediately following. What a great way to spend the weekend before Christmas - sharing times with friends and getting back into the spirit! Tickets will be $15.00 each and will go on sale in November before and after our Sunday services. This year’s market will also feature 25 vendors. If you have a business you would like to market, consider being a market vendor and pick up a form after service today!

CANDLES NEEDED
We need your help as we prepare for our Christ- mas Eve Service in our new home. We are looking for white or cream colored candles (any size or shape) for a very special element of the worship experience. Please bring them on December 10th and 17th to the information table in the lobby.

WOMEN’S SPRING BIBLESTUDY - DANIEL In January 2007, we will start our large group/small group expanded bible study program. This year’s spring study will be Beth’s Moore’s Daniel. This study will kick off on January 9th, 2007 offering a Tuesday morn- ing session (9:30 - 11:30 AM) and a Tuesday evening session (6:30 - 8:30 PM). The work books will be $20, and onsite childcare will be $75 per child for the whole spring semester. For more information, visit the women’s information table today! Down to the wire

It’s coming down to the wire!  We are slated to have our first service in our new building in 23 days.  Dust is flying, paint is going on the walls, and finishing touches are about to be made.  Wow!  What a year this has been!  How God has been faithful to us in bringing people and resources together to make our Big Dream of a new home possible!

One of the most rewarding things about this adventure is hearing again and again so many of you asking, “What can I do to help?”  Well, as we near this critical juncture, I wanted to highlight two opportunities that everyone can be involved in that will make a huge impact in the completion of our project:

  • Thirty Days of Prayer

By now you should have received online the first six devotionals that are designed to guide us in a unified effort to ask for God’s continued favor and blessing.  Paul has done an outstanding job in writing these thought provoking prayer guides.  How powerful it is for an entire church to join together in seeking God, praying that people who are far away from Him will find him, and that He will grow us up to be more like Him.  So, whenever and wherever you can, join us in the most important work we can do—praying for God’s presence and power to be upon us!

  • Open House, Sunday, December 10th from 4:00-6:00 pm

This will be everyone’s opportunity to see first-hand what the new building looks like and how it is designed to help us accomplish our mission.  We’ll be giving guided tours, have some holiday food, and give you a peak into what the final product is going to look like.

In almost every room you’ll get to see a 3D picture of what that room will look like when we get every piece of furniture and equipment in that particular space.  In architect speak furniture and accessories are called “FF&E” which stands for fixtures, furniture, and equipment.

Because of the limited nature of our budget, we have had to minimize what we can spend on FF&E.  At the Open House, however, you will have an opportunity to help spruce up our new digs a little more by sponsoring individual pieces of FF&E.  For example, as you tour through the PTKids Preschool area you might see a picture of the “Six Seat Bye Bye Buggy” that we could really use to keep our toddlers smiling during morning worship.

Even though you are already giving to Dream Big, you might start thinking how much fun it would be for toddlers to go on weekly field trips around our new building and how we can keep our volunteers in tip top physical shape by getting their aerobic exercise for the day by pushing them!  As you complete the tour, you’ll have an opportunity to make a donation that will make the purchase of the Bye Bye Buggy possible.  If you’re not into baby buggies there will be many other items that you can help provide that will enhance our ministry.

Well, there you have it.  Two ways we all can make sure we finish strong in this race to get into our new home.  Won’t you give God the chance to use you to do His good work in us!
Expectantly!

Jim

lightWhen Jesus came to earth, he amazed everyone -- he was pure goodness, grace and truth in action. One word that was used to describe him again and again is LIGHT. When an old saint named Simeon saw the infant Jesus he exclaimed, “I have seen the Savior, he is a light to reveal God to the nations.” Looking back at Jesus after a long life, John identified him as “the light of men that shines in the darkness.” Jesus described his own journey from heaven to earth in this simple phrase: “Light has come into the world.”

The thing about light is that you must respond to it. You can open your eyes or shut them, you can turn your head away, but you have to respond. When Jesus was born, the light he brought into the world evoked all sorts of reactions. In our upcoming Christmas message series called LIGHT we are going to explore how the light affected those who first encountered it, and how it can affect us today.

Here’s the lineup for topics and dates:

November 26 “Inconvenienced by the Light” (Joseph)
December 3 “Chosen by the Light” (Mary)
December 10 “Surprised by the Light” (Shepherds)
December 17 “Threatened by the Light” (Herod)
December 24 “ Drawn by the Light” (Wisemen)

Join us for these messages that will invite you to come into the LIGHT.
