DREAM BIG UPDATE!

What a day Sunday was!  To see so many come forward and offer their Dream Big commitments to the Lord was humbling and inspiring.  I have been a part of four previous capital campaigns and I have never seen the level of enthusiasm and sacrifice which you all displayed last Sunday.  God is surely pleased and you have made it possible for us continue moving ahead!  How much was pledged you ask?  I’d love to tell you . . . but I don’t want to spoil the surprise.  We’ll make the big announcement Sunday morning in both performances of Christmas on KidStreet (10:00 & 11:00).

We are continuing to move ahead with our pursuit of the PC Dynamics building. We should have the final contract signed early next week.  At that point our 30 day period of due diligence will formally begin.  During those days ongoing meetings with Frisco City officials will take place as we seek to determine what will be required of us to convert the property for our use.  At the same time the architect and our contractor will begin doing construction estimates so we will know the finish out costs.  By January 15th we should have a clear sense of whether or not we can complete the deal.

We covet your prayers as we walk through this process.  God has been faithful to PTCC in so many ways in its short history and we fully expect him to walk with us through this feasibility period.  We will face some setbacks and challenges along the way, which are normal in this kind of transaction, but we will trust Him in the details!  We will do our best to keep everyone informed with the developments both in Trail Notes and on the website at www.prestontrail.org.

If you are like me the spirit of Christmas is starting to draw you in.  Each year we try to offer events and services which will help you experience the true meaning of the season and enrich your family life.  Here’s a reminder of the holiday schedule:

  • Christmas on KidStreet, December 18th at 10:00 and 11:00 in Theatre 17.  The KidStreet Gang will help us get into the Christmas spirit as only they can!  No other services this morning . . .
  • Christmas Eve Services, Saturday, December 24th at 3:00 and 5:00 in Theatre 16.  This is a great opportunity to introduce your friends and family to PTCC and celebrate the true meaning of the holiday . . .
  • No services Christmas Day, we are essentially moving our Sunday services back a day to Christmas Eve . . .
  • No services New Year’s Day, we have taken the Sunday after Christmas off every year since the inception of our church.  PTCC is so volunteer intensive that we believe everyone benefits from a Sabbath from those responsibilities.
  • Regular schedule resumes January 8th, Paul and I will begin a new series we are especially excited about entitled re:solutions.  Be thinking now of friends you can invite that Sunday as we begin an exciting new year together . . .

We obviously have much to be thankful for in 2005 and much to anticipate in 2006!  God has gathered an incredibly gifted and devoted group of people to form PTCC.  Let us continue to increase his reputation in our community and around the world by loving and serving him with our whole hearts!

Gratefully,

Jim
