MEN'S MINISTRY KICKOFF
Men’s Ministry Kickoff - PTCC is starting a new and exciting men’s
ministry
in 2007, designed to help men build strong friendships with other Christian men,
become better husbands and/or fathers, and grow closer to God. To get this ministry
airborne, we will host a kickoff event on Sunday evening February 11 from 6 to
7:30 PM at our new building. This kickoff will include a homemade chili dinner,
a hilarious improv troop, a vision for men’s ministry, and our Sunday morning
worship band playing some great music. We invite ALL men to come to this event
... and to bring a friend with you!

GRAND
Grand Opening!
In spite of the bad weather and slushy parking
lots we had an incredible Grand Opening! How exciting it was to see all
those people coming through our doors and see their faces light
up when they discovered what was inside. One of the most
rewarding things for Paul and me was having so many of you come
up to us to introduce us to the friends you had invited for the
day. Way to go! Way to be a part of the mission of
investing and inviting!
For those of you who are curious, we had over
1000 people on campus for our two services. We had at least 100% growth in every
area of our church and in some age groups we had over 200% growth. How
amazing it was to watch every part of our church “body” functioning
at a peak level. If you haven’t realized it yet, we
are blessed with some amazing Age Group Directors and volunteers. Thanks
to everyone whose labor of love made this day happen.
Don’t be surprised if we have an even larger crowd this
week. Our mailers did not get dropped in a timely fashion
by the Post Office so many folks will be getting an invitation
to join us this week. Plus, the positive word of mouth that
will spread should bring a lot of new folks in as well. That
means we’ve got to be ready again to welcome, greet, and
help connect all these new folks in meaningful ways to Preston
Trail and ultimately to God! Our most important work is just
beginning as we now turn our focus from building a building to
building and shaping people.
With these thoughts in mind, let me ask many
of you once again to be willing to park on Red Cedar back behind
the church. It
is a pleasant walk to the back entrance to the church. By
doing so you will help our outstanding Parking Team maximize our
available spaces for our guests and families with small children. I
can’t say enough about our Parking Team, they have risen
to the challenge of managing our limited spaces. Their friendly
greetings have come through to people in spite of the fact that
on most Sundays they have been drenched and in danger of frostbite!
I want to encourage you to invite your friends
back this week as we continue our new series—Man Laws. This week Paul
Basden will be tackling the cultural principle that tells us “If
It Feels Good Do It!” This is one of the most pervasive
values of our society and Paul and the Worship Team are going to
help us examine this assumption with eyes wide open. You
won’t want to miss it!
