PTMen
This Sunday evening we are launching PTMen,
our new Men’s
Ministry. It has been in the planning stages for almost three
months now and everything is on go! We believe that this
ministry, along with our Women’s Ministry, will be the dynamic
venues that will help us to accomplish our purpose of helping people
become fully devoted followers of Christ.
Our commitment to a Men’s Ministry has arisen out of our
growing awareness of the special needs men have, especially in
the spiritual realm. A recent survey by George Barna points
to a window of opportunity that we have to help men grow. He
discovered that men:
- Are looking for meaning and purpose in life
- Are seeking understanding of who they are and what they are
thinking
- Want solutions to their everyday problems and difficulties
- Want to know God—who he is and what
he means to them
- Want to be a part of an effective men’s
ministry that touches them where they are
- Want friendships that are built on trust and that will last
- Want help with family issues, especially training for their
children
The goal of PTMen will be to step in the gap
and provide the answers and opportunities that men are seeking. So,
if you are a man that resonates with some of the desires above
you will be juiced by what you see Sunday night.
The festivities begin at the building with
some 3 Alarm Chili at 6:00 PM. Then we’ll move into the Worship Center
where the band will crank out some driving tunes that will rev
us up. We’ve got an Improve Comedy Group that will
help us see the humorous side of being male and then we’ll
cast the vision of how this ministry is going to help us grow up
into strong men for Christ. It’s going to be an awesome
event!
Don’t forget Sunday morning, though! Paul is concluding
our Man Law Series with the message “All Good People Go to
Heaven.” He will be presenting the gospel in a clear
and inviting way, so if you have been investing and inviting lately,
this will be an awesome Sunday for you to bring friends with you. Then,
after the message we will celebrate the Lord’s Supper together. It
will be a powerful morning, you won’t want to miss.
God is doing his transforming work in so many
of our lives. Thanks
for your prayers, service, and support that help make it all happen!
Blessings,
Jim
P.S. If it has been raining Saturday and Sunday,
if possible park behind the building on Red Cedar. That will
free up more spaces for the friends everyone is inviting!
