WHOOHOO!!!!!
The remodeling of our new building has begun! Bright
and early Monday morning CST Environmental Corporation from Houston
invaded our building, set up shop, and began a three week process
of demolishing all the unnecessary infrastructure and ridding the
building of all the residual manufacturing dust from PC Dynamics.
If you missed the announcement Sunday you
missed the big news. Last
week the Board of Directors of Legacy Texas Bank voted to settle
amicably with us and cover our expenses for the clean up of the
building. Patrick Shelby, the majority owner of the bank,
is a man of integrity. After walking through the details of what
occurred with him last Wednesday morning, he assured us the bank
would do the right thing—and they did!
What this means is that we are on track for
a late fall completion of the building. Soon after Labor Day we will begin carrying
out the exciting transition plans necessary for moving the church
to its new location. In the meantime, please continue to
pray that in all the excitement we won’t lose sight of our
mission of helping people find and follow Christ. You can
ensure that we don’t by continuing to invite your friends,
neighbors, and co-workers to join your for Weekend Worship.
This week continue to pray also for our students
at Youth Camp. Early
reports are that things are going extremely well. We had
49 kids and 21 adults go to Corpus Christi for the week. Our
hope is that God will use this time in the lives of our students
to help them make the next right step in their journey of faith. For
some of them that means crossing the line of faith for the first
time and entrusting their lives to Christ. For others it
means learning to live out their faith in practical ways in a challenging
and hostile world. You can contribute to their experience
and growth by praying for them faithfully this week. We’ll
look forward to hearing a brief report on their week at the conclusion
of Sunday morning’s service.
Speaking of Sunday morning, Paul will continue our series What
Do I Tell My Kids? and focus on the topic of
divorce. Very few families remain unscathed by divorce
in some way. Whether you are the child of divorced parents,
have close friends or family who have experienced one, or maybe
even walking through one right now, helping your children understand
what is really going on can make a huge difference in their
lives for decades to come. Paul is going to offer some
wise advice and counsel from God’s work that will be
a great resource to you. Don’t miss it!
God is up to some remarkable things at PTCC
I’m glad you
are a vital part of them!
