WOMEN’S RETREAT IS NOW FULL!
We have hit capacity on our women’s retreat on August 17-18th. We can no longer take any additional signups, but will have a wait list at the Yes! table if anyone were to cancel. If anyone becomes aware that they cannot attend, please send an email to womens@prestontrail.org as soon as possible. This will allow us to offer the spot to another woman on the wait list.

INCITE 101
This is a sneak peak into the student ministry at PTCC for parents of upcoming 6th-12th graders. This event will be Friday, August 24, from 7:00-8:30 PM in the youth lounge and worship room. Coffee and dessert provided. If you have any questions, please contact our Ryan Hairston at ryan@prestontrail.org.

TEACHER APPRECIATION Sunday, August 26!
School is about to be back in session and we want to honor and affirm the teachers, administrators, and coaches who are a part of our church and community. Educating a future generation is one of the most significant callings in life. We will take time in each service to bless and pray for the educators in attendance and also present to them a special gift. If you are a part of the teaching profession we hope you will be a part of this special day. We don’t want to limit the kudos to just Preston Trailers. Feel free to invite any teacher, administrator, or coach who you think would be encouraged by a day of affirmation!

85 children. 100 volunteers. Can we do it?

Get ready for one of my favorite annual ministry events, Clothe-A-Child. Each year, Preston Trail Community Church partners with the Frisco ISD and other local churches in an effort to help clothe needy children.

"Each year we have more and more Frisco children needing help, thus the need for more volunteers and donations becomes greater. Luckily here at PTCC, we have had such generous hearts who have stepped up year after year wanting to help, we have clothed many local school-aged children and are looking to do so again this year,” says Leigh Anne Crow, Preston Trail Community Church's leader of the event. “I just know we at PTCC can deliver again this year!”

Working with Kohl’s department store, CAC awards needy children in our area $100 worth of school clothing. The CAC leadership team works closely with the Frisco ISD guidance counselors in determining the children with the greatest need.

"It's a great day for everyone,” tells John Taylor, who helps spearhead the entire effort, "The kids have fun, the volunteers have fun, and everyone walks away feeling filled up. In fact, last year we clothed 598 children!”

Volunteers are needed for various areas, but the most critical need is shopping with the families. Volunteer shoppers help families find clothing in the right sizes and help keep track of the dollar amount to make sure the families max out their $100 voucher. Those who are bilingual are greatly needed, since they can communicate with the many families for whom English is their second language.

This year CAC hopes to clothe more than 700 children, and the aim of Preston Trail is to clothe 85 of those and to provide 100 volunteers. This year the event will take place on two Saturdays: October 13th and October 20th, both at Kohl's department store in Frisco bright and early Saturday morning.

HOW CAN YOU HELP!

There are two ways you can help:

1) Volunteer - Sign up at the Clothe A Child table before or after our Sunday services to help shop with a family.

2) Donate - Donate money towards a $100 voucher to buy clothing. Money will be collected at the Clothe A Child table.

85 kids. 100 volunteers. Can Preston Trail do it? I definitely believe we will....

Inspired by the mission,

The Road to Recovery

CBS News recently reported that half of the alcoholics in America are young adults. A federal study just found that 1 out of 12 fulltime workers in America have drug and alcohol problems severe enough to require rehab. Eating disorder treatment centers, once the haven of teens and 20-somethings, now have a new clientele: women in their 30s, 40s, and 50s.

We are clearly a society with plenty of hurts and hang-ups. Some are deadly addictions that can destroy life; others are harmful habits that can ruin relationships. All of them rob us of the “abundant life” Jesus came to give.

God wants to release us from these chains so we can live in freedom. And he tells us how in the Bible. For the next four weeks our senior pastors will speak on how to find healing and hope for our addictive behaviors, in a new series of messages entitled “The Road to Recovery.” Based on Jesus’ teachings in the Beatitudes, the messages will point us all to the life we’ve always wanted. Join us July 29, August 5, 12, and 19.
